Geared Head Lathe Setup Instructions
Setup instructions for the Carroll & Jamieson 5-inch geared head lathe, covering end gear train configurations for two distinct operational modes. Figure 1 details the gear arrangement for extra fine feed work, specifying the 60T, 36T, 96T, and 54T gear combination. Figure 2 demonstrates the alternative configuration for thread chasing indexed to the spindle, using the 60T, 96T, and 27T gears.
