- Manuals are provided with each machine tool

- Operators must be forbidden from changing workpieces or performing other work close to a revolving cutter
- When contaminants are released to the atmosphere as a result of machining, an exhaust system is recommended
- All employees should be aware of first aid facilities and be encouraged to use same
- Employees should be encouraged to report any hazardous condition on the machine tool or in the immediate area
- Air hoses must not be available for use around the machine tool
- Levels of illumination in the immediate area of the machine tool should comply with National Standards
- Fire prevention must be practiced and fire protection available to prevent loss of life, personal injury and to protect property
- Protective footwear affords good protection against rolling objects, dropping heavy objects, accidentally kicking sharp edged materials
- Eye protection devices must be considered as optical instruments and should be carefully selected, fitted and used
- The employer must insist that his employees study this safety information and practice safety
- Users must have available adequate lifting facilities capable of lifting within the safe load limits
- Every floor opening resulting from the machine tool installed in pits or below floor level should be covered with a material of proper strength with non-slip features
- When machines are installed above floor level and a platform is built around the machine tool, the platform must be constructed of materials of proper strength with non-slip features
- Management personnel have the responsibility to alert operating personnel of any unsafe practice they may observe
